British company Fortrade Ltd. operates under the brand Fortrade. It is licensed and regulated by the FCA and offers online trading through the popular MetaTrader 4 platform and through its own developed application called Fortrader. The platform is available as desktop and web-based versions.
Web Fortrader doesn’t require any download and installation and is accessible from any PC or Mac with an Internet connection.
Following logging into the platform the initial workspace is loaded. It is organized in four windows. The sections containing trading instruments are on the left. There are two tabs in the top window showing Favorites and All Instruments. Each row of the Favorites tab displays the name of the instrument, buy and sell button with corresponding prices, daily change and a mini chart for the last 24 hours. All instruments tab represents trading assets in groups (currencies, indices, stocks, commodities, US treasuries and ETFs). Each of them can be expanded and the desired instrument can be added to favorites by clicking on the star next to its name. There is a search field where the instruments can be found by their names. Top gainers and losers of the last trading day are listed in the window below.
Clicking on the buy or sell button opens a trade window where the order properties can be set including take profit and stop loss levels before entering the market (instant execution model). Pending orders can be placed from this window. A notification for executed order appears and the open trades are shown in the other window on the bottom. Here they can be modified or closed.
Charts are next to the favorites. They can be maximized to occupy the entire workspace or can be opened in a new browser window. Prices are represented as lines or candles. There are 7 indicators and five time-frames (from 1 minute to 1 week). Zoom can be done by pressing + or – buttons or by the mouse scroll wheel, which is very convenient. There are buy and sell buttons with prices on the chart window so orders can be made here.
Account information about the balance, profit/loss and equity is displayed at the top of the platform.
This application is appropriate for novice. It doesn’t have much features but all necessary for simple trading is here.
