xStation 5

Along with the well-known MetaTrader 4, the Polish broker XTB (X-Trade Brokers) provides its own web-based forex platform called xStation 5.

The default view has a black background and four main windows. The Instruments window is on the left side. It has two tabs and each of them can be maximized to occupy the entire workspace. The favorites tab contains all added symbols, their daily change, bid and ask prices. New instruments can be inserted from the Add bar.

Favorites can be displayed as a list or as cubes, where the larger sell and buy buttons are more convenient for trading. Once the quantity is set, orders can be placed by just 1-click. While instruments are shown as a list, a click on any symbol expands the instrument’s field and more trading options appear. Besides provided data of market depth from liquidity providers, pending orders can be placed here and the instrument can be removed from the favorites list.

The Market Watch tab shows all instruments divided into asset groups such as Forex, Commodities, Indices, Shares and ETFs. They can be filtered by typing some symbol into the filter bar.

The major part of the workspace is assigned to the chart window. The menu bar is located at the top of the window, consisting of several tabs that use this window to display news, calendar, statistics and market analysis. Charts can be displayed as candlesticks, bars, lines and Heikin-Ashi. There is a button that allows pending orders to be placed by a mouse click directly in the chart. Stop loss and take profit orders can be attached automatically to it, if this option is activated by the next button. Zoom is organized through + and – buttons and through a mouse wheel. Price bar at the right can be scaled by dragging the mouse.

Single-chart and multi-chart modes can be selected from the layouts button. The graphical objects are at the left side of the window. Nearly 35 indicators are available for pacing, alphabetically sorted. Lines, shapes, text and Fibonacci retracements can be drawn from this menu. Current chart can be shared directly from the platform.

Chart window can be modified to sit the customer needs. Almost all features can be switched as invisible – bid price, ask price, open trades, pending orders, indicators, trading from charts, etc.

Open positions window is located below the chart window. Customers can view, close or modify all orders here and view trading history as well. Account information is provided on the bar at the bottom side of the workspace. It contains account balance, equity, margin, free margin, margin level and current result. Settings button allow changing of the language, sounds and background skins (dark or light).
