Web Platforms

eToro

Financial company eToro has developed its own platform for online trading called ‘New eToro’. It is web-based and can be launched on any computer with an Internet connection.

The default platform view represents two windows – the trade window on the left and the main window on the right. The menu options are in the Trade window. Each of them opens its content in the main window.

The Watchlist menu shows available instruments for trading. Customers can choose different options such as Show All, Recently Invested, My Watchlist and Create New List. There is a filter allowing the same group assets to be shown. Instruments can be displayed as a list or as cubes. Each line of the list contains instrument symbol, daily change, buy and sell buttons and users sentiment. A click on buy or sell buttons opens a trade window where market and pending orders can be placed. All the order properties are set here, including the leverage and trailing stop.

Open positions are shown in the Portfolio section. All the columns that display the position properties can be configured by the Customize Columns button. Clicking on the instrument opens additional options such as new trade and close the position. A second click opens related to this instrument news in the main window. Instrument chart can be shown here.

Customers can view markets sorted by groups in the Discover section. Here they can copy other traders deals. Help, quick guide and settings are available in the More section from the left menu. Settings allow customers to change General, Account, Trading and Notification properties.

Charts are displayed in a new browser window by clicking on the chart button in the instrument list or cubes. There are 9 time-frames – from 1 minute to 1 week. Customers can choose between light and dark themes, regular or logarithmic scale, normal candles, bars, lines or Heikin-Ashi. Graphical objects include trend lines, measurement tool, support/resistance lines, geometric shapes and Fibonacci retracements. There are nearly 70 indicators divided alphabetically into two groups A-L and M-Z. Buy and Sell buttons are incorporated into the chart window and if one-click trading is enabled, deals can be made significantly faster.

Customers can write a post directly from the platform. There also is a search field where particular markets or people can be found.
