Along with the well-known MetaTrader 4, the UK broker Finsa Europe Ltd provides its own web-based forex platform called CoreTrader. The company offers its financial services under the name Core Spreads.
Workspace is simplified and is divided into two main windows. The upper one is for the instruments and the lower one is for trading and account information.
Instruments are presented as a list containing Sell and Buy prices, direction arrows, Daily Change in pips/points and Action section. The action section consists of Trade, Order, Chart, Info and Add to Watch list buttons. Next to the instruments window is the Market Explorer window, where the desired instruments can be selected. All instruments are shown in expanding asset groups in this window. Clicking on the group shows subgroups in this asset type. Each subgroup can be displayed in the instrument window.
Customers can create their custom watch lists containing selected favorites. Watch lists are displayed by clicking on the tab with their name in the instruments window. Information button shows data about chosen instrument such as trading hours, spread, margin etc.
The lower window consists of five tabs, named Open Positions, Opening Orders, Transaction History, Information and Account Summary. Each of them shows corresponding data in the entire window. There is a View button that can filter data daily or all records.
Charts can be displayed by clicking on the chart button in the instruments window or in the lower window when Open Positions tab is active. The chosen chart opens in a new window. It can be resized or maximized in a new browser tab. The default background is black but more color options are available. Zoom can be done by buttons or by a mouse scroll wheel, which is useful for quick zooming. Price and time scales can be changed by mouse dragging. There are 13 time-frames – from tick to 1 month including non-standard ones like 2 and 3 minutes. Select tool menu contains all graphical objects such as trend lines, vertical and horizontal lines, shapes, measure tool, Fibonacci retracements and crosshair. Charts can be displayed as candlesticks, bars, lines, Heikin-Ashi and in the logarithmic scale. Customer can make technical analysis using 90 indicators. They can be sorted alphabetically or can be selected from the search field.
