The Cypriot broker Plus500 provides its own trading platform that is available as a desktop version, a web-based version and a mobile application.
The desktop version is compatible with Microsoft Windows operating system and requires downloading and installing a small executable file.
The workspace is similar to the web-based version and also is divided into two main windows – the instruments window above and the chart window below. Both windows are mutually resizable. Here the different options are organized as tabs. There are four tabs named Trade, Open positions, Orders and Closed Positions that show the relevant information into the upper window. The main menus are the top of the workspace. Clients have access to all platform features from them.
The menu bar containing different asset groups is vertically placed at the left side. Customers can choose among Most Popular, Indices, Forex, Commodities, Options, ETFs and Shares for trading. Account information is displayed at the bottom of the same menu bar – Available funds, Equity, Margin and current result. The instrument search box is also located there.
In the desktop version, instruments are shown as a list only. Each line of it consists of Symbol name, Sell (Short) and Buy buttons, Daily change, High and Low values for the day, Add to favorites and Add a price alert buttons.
Orders are fulfilled by clicking on the buy or sell (short) buttons from the instrument list. A trade window for the selected instrument opens. All necessary data for placing market and pending orders is there. Customers can activate Trailing stop and Guaranteed stop loss options. Open positions can be closed and modified both from the instruments window and open positions window.
Charts are quite simplified and offer several options to be set including zoom and 10 time-frames (from tick to 1 week). Nearly 20 indicators can be added to the chart that can be displayed as candlesticks and lines.
